McDonald's Timeline

Newest news first.

May 2006

In May 2006, McDonald's has decided to stop selling the DoubleCheeseburger at RM2.50, instead raising it back to the "normal" price of RM5.10. Also, they have increased the price of the ChickenBurger to RM3.00 and brought in two new burgers, both at RM3.00 as well.

October 2005

The RedPrivilegeCard has been phased out (it expires on September 2005), to be replaced by a more inferior GreenPrivilegeCard which offers a 10% discount on anything you buy.

McDonald's had also released a set of coupons that were valid during March and April, which provided pretty good value for money. Many companies use this "coupon strategy" to not make it so noticeable when they jack up their prices, but McDonald's did not revise so many prices upwards. The Medium Value Meal is now slightly cheaper for certain entrees (but the fries are now smaller, remember?) and it is now a fixed 75 sen (as opposed to approx. 40 sen) if you want to turn your Medium Value Meal into a Large one.

The prices of several other products have been raised slightly too, but only by about 20 or 30 sen.
